We’re working to build various initiatives to encourage employees to live and breathe those company values.
We’re committed to biomedical innovation.. We’re all about innovating products and innovating processes. Having integrity for our work is also very important to us. We’re dealing with medical devices so if the data says that we failed because we were off by 1,000th of an inch, it’s still a failure. We always must do the right thing. Having a perspective focused on collaboration is how we built our business. Whether it’s external or internal, it’s all about collaboration. Internally, we work together as a team. Our operations, product development, finance, and quality departments all work well together. Having everyone in the company helping each other be successful is our secret sauce. Excellence is integrated into everything we do. If we’re going to do something, we make sure we do an excellent job. If we can’t do that, we don’t do it. But it also applies to us maintain excellent relationships with our vendors, our customers, and our employees.
Lastly, is enthusiasm. We tend to say we spend more time within Biorep than we do our own families. Because of that, we encourage everyone to be enthusiastic. Due to the nature of being part of making life-saving medical devices, it’s a very rewarding experience and hence, employees are enthusiastic.
Can you talk about some of the challenges you’ve faced while growing your business?
I’ve been very fortunate. Fortunate that we’ve never had to look for outside capital. The biggest challenge has been to build the right processes and scale with the right people. Finding the right team has been a challenge. It’s very important to me to surround myself with people who are smarter than me. That’s how we can continue to grow the company. Then, the challenge becomes how do we keep our employees engaged and motivated?
