For four generations, aviation has been in Danielle Adornatoโ€™s blood. As the CEO and President of FBR Aviation, Adornato has not only carried forward her familyโ€™s aviation legacy but has built a company that provides customized solutions for clients worldwide. Founded in 2007, FBR Aviation specializes in aircraft sales, parts distribution, and mission-specific aviation modifications.

Whether itโ€™s equipping an aircraft for firefighting, surveillance, or executive travel, the company delivers turnkey solutions tailored to each clientโ€™s needs. With a global footprint spanning North America, South America, Europe, and Africa, FBR Aviation is redefining what it means to be a full-service aviation provider. โ€œWeโ€™re not just selling planes or parts,โ€ says Adornato. โ€œWeโ€™re engineering solutionsโ€”helping our clients achieve their goals with the right aircraft, the right modifications, and the right support.โ€

From Brazil to Florida: A Bold Leap in Business

Adornatoโ€™s journey to success was anything but conventional. Born and raised in Brazil, she grew up in an aviation family where her great-grandfather was a pilot and instructor, her great-grandmother was one of Brazilโ€™s first female pilots, and her father founded his own aviation company. It was only natural that she would follow in their footsteps. However, her path took a bold turn when she moved to Florida at just 26 years old, bringing her young daughter with her. With no English skills and limited resources, she set out to establish FBR Aviation in the United Statesโ€”a move that would ultimately propel her company onto the world stage. โ€œI had no connections, no credit, and no idea how to navigate the American business system,โ€ Adornato recalls. โ€œBut I knew the industry, I knew what clients needed, and I was determined to make it work.โ€ By focusing on strategic partnerships, customer trust, and persistence, FBR Aviation grew from a parts reseller into a comprehensive aviation solutions provider.

Today, the company sells aircraft, customizes aviation technology, and supports both private and government clients around the world. Tailored Solutions for Every Aviation Need Built FBR Aviation stands apart from traditional aircraft brokers and parts suppliers by offering fully customized aviation solutions. The company specializes in aircraft sales and leasing, providing executive aircraft, helicopters, and special mission aircraft to clients. It also focuses on custom modifications, equipping aircraft for law enforcement, firefighting, aerial surveillance, and emergency response.

In addition, FBR Aviation excels in parts distribution and logistics, ensuring fast and efficient delivery of aviation parts worldwide while expertly navigating import/export regulations. โ€œOur clients range from private aircraft owners to government agencies, each with unique needs,โ€ Adornato explains. โ€œWe donโ€™t just sell aircraftโ€”we engineer solutions that make their operations more efficient, safer, and more effective.โ€ For example, when a firefighting agency needed an aircraft outfitted for aerial surveillance and water-dropping capabilities, FBR Aviation sourced the right plane, installed the necessary modifications, and certified the aircraft for immediate deployment. โ€œWhen we take on a project, we handle everythingโ€”from procurement and customization to pilot training and maintenance,โ€ says Adornato. โ€œOur goal is to simplify aviation for our clients so they can focus on their mission.โ€

FBR Aviation is now preparing for its biggest expansion yet: aircraft manufacturing in Brazil. In partnership with Diamond Aircraft, the company will begin manufacturing the DA62, a seven-seat, twin-engine aircraft ideal for executive travel and special missions. โ€œBrazil has a huge demand for executive aircraft, but local manufacturing is limited,โ€ Adornato says. โ€œBy building the DA62 in Brazil, we can meet market demand while creating jobs and expanding our companyโ€™s capabilities.โ€ This move will make FBR Aviation only the second aircraft manufacturer in Brazil, alongside industry giant Embraer. โ€œWeโ€™re not just growingโ€”weโ€™re reshaping the aviation industry in Brazil,โ€ Adornato says.

Why Florida? A Strategic Hub for Aviation Growth

Florida has played a crucial role in FBR Aviationโ€™s success. With its business-friendly policies, strategic location, and strong aerospace industry, the state provides the perfect environment for a global aviation company. โ€œWhen I moved here, I saw how easy Florida made it to do business compared to Brazil,โ€ Adornato says. โ€œThe state supports companies like ours with export incentives, streamlined regulations, and access to top-tier suppliers.โ€ Located near major aviation hubs, FBR Aviation can efficiently source parts, manage logistics, and export aircraft worldwide. The companyโ€™s presence in Florida has also helped it expand beyond Brazil, serving clients in Europe, Africa, and North America.

Challenges & Looking Ahead

Like any growing company, FBR Aviation faces challenges. The global supply chain crisis has led to delays in aircraft parts, affecting production timelines. Additionally, the aviation industry is experiencing a shortage of skilled mechanics and pilots, making workforce development a priority.

Despite these hurdles, FBR Aviation is poised for exponential growth. Over the next three years, the company expects to triple its revenue, driven by expanding manufacturing, new government contracts, and increasing demand for customized aviation solutions.

โ€œOur biggest challenge is scaling fast enough to meet demand,โ€ Adornato says. โ€œBut if thereโ€™s one thing Iโ€™ve learned, itโ€™s that persistence always pays off.โ€ With a global customer base, growing manufacturing capabilities, and a reputation for excellence, FBR Aviation is set to become a powerhouse in the aviation industry.

Recognition as a GrowFL Florida Companies to Watch Honoree

Being named a GrowFL 2024 Florida Companies to Watch honoree is a major milestone for FBR Aviation. โ€œThis award isnโ€™t just about meโ€”itโ€™s about our team, our partners, and the journey weโ€™ve been on together,โ€ Adornato says. โ€œItโ€™s proof that hard work, resilience, and a commitment to excellence can lead to incredible success.โ€ Adornatoโ€™s entrepreneurial journey has been filled with obstacles, but she believes persistence is the key to success. โ€œYou will hear no a hundred times before you hear yesโ€”but every no brings you closer to that yes,โ€ she says. โ€œThe key is to stay focused, keep learning, and never give up on your vision.โ€

โ€œWe started as a small parts reseller,โ€ Adornato reflects. โ€œNow, weโ€™re selling aircraft, modifying fleets, and manufacturing planes. And weโ€™re just getting started.โ€
