Insight Assurance: Cybersecurity Through a Compliance Lens

โGrowth really accelerates when you stop trying to do everything yourself and start trusting other people with real responsibility.โ
โ Jesus Jimenez, Founder & CEO and Felipe Saboya, Founder & CFO, Insight Assurance
Where the Business Began
Insight Assurance didnโt begin with a grand plan or a polished pitch deck. It began with demand. After years inside large, global firms, Jesus Jimenez and Felipe Saboya felt a shared pull toward independence. They valued the experience gained at “Big Four” style firms but saw a widening gap in the market: clients wanted high-level rigor and credibility without the staggering costs and bureaucratic rigidity of a global giant.
When a client approached them for compliance support, they jumped. What started with a single engagement in 2020 scaled organically, fueled by the duo’s complementary styles. While their backgrounds provided the technical foundation, their shared entrepreneurial roots provided the spark. For both, the drive for self-employment was in their bloodโshaped by family examples of independence and the belief that accountability is best maintained when you own the results.
Cybersecurity Through a Compliance Lens
Insight Assurance occupies a unique space, operating as a licensed compliance and assurance organization rather than a traditional tool-based security firm. Jesus and Felipe often describe the team as โcybersecurity accountants.โ The work is deeply technical, but it is governed by the same professional and regulatory standards that oversee accounting and audit services. This allows the firm to deliver a specific type of “structured assurance” that gives stakeholdersโinvestors, boards, and customersโgenuine peace of mind. โWe wanted to bridge the gap,โ says the leadership team. โWe provide the discipline of a global firm with the agility of a specialized partner.โ
A Global Team Built for Scale
From day one, the founders looked beyond borders. Today, Insight Assurance employs nearly 200 full-time professionals across the U.S., Latin America, Canada, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific. This global footprint isn’t an outsourcing play; itโs a strategic advantage. Every team member is a fully dedicated employee, ensuring that multinational clients have access to experts who understand local regulations and operate in their own time zones. Jesus and Felipe have intentionally fostered a culture where geography doesnโt determine value, and diverse perspectives are treated as the firm’s greatest strength.
Culture, Pace, and the Challenge of Growth
Insight Assurance moves at a breakneck speed. Since launching, the company has experienced rapid, sustained growth, reaching approximately $20 million in annual recurring revenue in 2025.
However, the founders are candid about the challenges:
- Talent Density: Finding professionals who can keep up with the technical and cultural rhythm of the business is a constant focus.
- Internal Pipelines: To combat the cybersecurity talent shortage, Jesus and Felipe built an internal academy, hiring recent graduates in accounting and finance and training them in proprietary compliance methodologies.
- Operational Scale: The shift from a “founder-led” model to a “leadership-led” model has been the defining evolution of the last two years.
The Next Frontier: The Enterprise Space
While the firm built its foundation in the SMB and mid-market sectors, the founders are now steering the ship toward the enterprise space. They believe the technical capability is already proven; the current mission is scaling the sales and relationship management infrastructure to support the complex buying cycles of Fortune 500 companies.
Connection Beyond the Work
Despite being a globally distributed company, Jesus and Felipe are intentional about “physical” culture. In late 2025, they brought the global leadership team to Tampa, Floridaโthe companyโs home baseโfor a strategic summit.
The visit wasnโt just about spreadsheets; the team volunteered at the Humane Society of Tampa Bay, reinforcing a core belief held by both founders: shared service strengthens a team just as much as shared success. For Jesus and Felipe, Florida represents more than a headquarters; itโs a professional ecosystem that supports their global ambition while offering a local sense of community.
