Saurin Patel

CEO/Founder

In 2006, two business partners Saurin Patel and Dave Patel envisioned creating holistic services to improve medical billing operations. This began with a doctor’s request for a solution in medical billing that would allow him to focus on patients while we handled the billing. Thus, Billed Right’s Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) model was born. Their model prioritizes solving problems over selling a product, offering personalized service in today’s corporate world while reducing costs and enhancing patient care and practice revenue. They’ve grown from 5 employees in 2006 to nearly 500 across six locations, three in India and three in the USA.

Was there a pivotal moment that led you to start your company?

Our “Ah-hah” moment came when we created a service addressing a specific pain point in medical billing, rather than offering a generic, one-size-fits-all solution. We continue to listen to our client’s operational challenges in billing and focus our deliverables on solving these issues.

Our culture is family-oriented. Unlike some companies that maintain a strict business-only approach, we foster an open-door policy and a team spirit akin to family, contributing to our success. My aspiration is for our team members to envisage retiring with Billed Right, and with a significant percentage having been with us for over five years, this dream is becoming a reality.

Our value-driven approach sets us apart. We engage in partnerships only if we can provide value, seeking lifelong relationships with our clients. This philosophy has helped us retain clients since our inception in 2006.

As CEO, I’ve leveraged various tools to establish a robust operational foundation. We’ve invested in employee development, training, and operational efficiency since 2019, significantly enhancing our Operational Maturity Level (OML).

Our goals for the next five years include elevating our employee talent level to exceed industry standards by 10%, making our organization a living testament to the importance of technology adoption in daily operations, and achieving Best in Class status in our Operational Maturity Level.

Do you have proudest moment so far?

The proudest moment as CEO was our pivot during COVID-19. While others struggled with the transition to remote work, we successfully shifted our 300+ employees within two weeks. We provided valuable webinars for clients, ensured continuous support, and even expanded by opening a third location in India during the pandemic.

What does it mean to be selected as an Honoree?

Being selected as a GrowFL FLCTW Honoree is immensely meaningful to us. It acknowledges our behind-the-scenes efforts, connects us with other thought leaders, and offers opportunities to share and gain insights for mutual success.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank for getting you to where you are now?

I extend my heartfelt gratitude to our entire team, whose dedication and hard work have been pivotal to our success. People are indeed our greatest asset.

What is your advice for aspiring or fellow business owners?

My advice to aspiring business owners is to invest in company growth early and do it correctly. Adopting the EOS model in 2019 provided us with a strong foundation. We may be a small company, but we possess a level 5 leadership mentality, aiming to evolve from good to great. This transformation is achievable with dedicated time, effort, and intentionality.
