Was there a pivotal moment that led you to start your company?
The “ah-ha” moment that led to the entrepreneurial journey for Kinley Construction was spurred by the devastation caused by three consecutive hurricanes (Charley, Frances, and Jeanne) that hit Central Florida in 2004. This experience motivated the company’s founders to seek a stronger way to build in Florida. After extensive research, we decided that Insulated Concrete Form (ICF) walls were the safest type of construction available worldwide, which led us to start building with ICF walls.

My proudest moment as the CEO was winning the 2024 ICF Builder Award for a large oceanfront ICF residential project we built in Melbourne Beach, FL. We will be presented the award at the World of Concrete Event in Las Vegas, NV. Our project was one out of thousands of other project entries located throughout the United States. This project was not only a testament to our team’s expertise in Insulated Concrete Form (ICF) construction but also a demonstration of our commitment to innovation, sustainability, and excellence in construction. The recognition of our work through this prestigious award is a significant milestone for our company and reflects our dedication to pushing the boundaries of what is possible in sustainable and resilient building practices.
