Was there a pivotal moment that led you to start your company?
Timing played a major role in the development of PCG. In 2008/2009 I had small children in school and the work force was experiencing huge changes. Out of necessity, I researched government work and learned that I may be able to qualify for set-aside projects which was the only construction work still operating at the time. I had no idea what I was getting into but needed to find a way to provide for my family.

Our company culture is founded on Teamwork, Integrity & Quality. We are one team dedicated to serving our clients with excellence in all that we do. We’re committed to each other, to the client, and to the standard of quality a hospital deserves.
What is your competitive edge?
We provide Total General Contracting support from one company and one team. From Preconstruction to scheduling and training, we own our work from start to finish. As a veteran and former leader of soldiers, I am passionate about providing world-class construction services to the Department of Veterans Affairs. When we serve our client well, the American soldier is positively impacted by the clinics and patient wards we deliver to the facilities responsible for the care of our veteran population.
A terrific network of professionals has supported my journey over the years. We have learned from those in the industry who serve their clients well, and we simply brought that insight to our clients in the federal sector. Hurdles are every day, and you must hit them head-on to continue to grow.
My vision is to scale what we currently have by tripling the number of viable campuses we have going and continue to serve clients for the long haul. Our revenue growth has been slow and steady compared to competitors, but the quality delivered, and the relationships fostered have been second to none. We continue to have excellent performance ratings that provide us with a strong win ratio for our pursuits. We are looking for strategic partnerships with firms that have a similar culture to ours to meet the needs of our clients to deliver larger projects in the $20M – $100M range.
Seeing the consistent growth of not just the size of our company or on job sites, but in the growth of my team. Seeing people flourish from Project Engineer to Senior Project Managers, for example, gives me tremendous pride and satisfaction.

What is your advice for aspiring or fellow business owners?
Keep pressing forward by doing the right thing. The results will come in time, but you must persevere.
